Marwa Zein

Biography

Marwa Zein was born in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. She has lived and studied in Cairo and she currently resides in Germany.
She is a filmmaker and the founder of the Sudanese production company ORE Productions, based in Khartoum.
Her short films A GAME and ONE WEEK, TWO DAYS have won awards at more than 20 film festivals.
OUFSAIYED ELKHORTOUM, a documentary about female footballers in Sudan, is her first feature-length film. It was
selected for the Berlinale Forum section in 2019 and she will be at this year’s Afrika Film Festival in Cologne to present
her film in person.
