Biography

Viktor Viyuoh, born in 1969, grew up in Cameroon and currently lives in the US. According to Filmmaker magazine, he is one of the “25 new independent filmmakers” whose productions are absolute must-sees. His multiple-award-winning short film MBOUTOUKOU (2002) was shown at 100 film festivals worldwide, including in Venice and won more than 30 awards. In Cologne, he is presenting his first feature film NINAH’S DOWRY, which has also been shown at the 2013 FESPACO in Ouagadougou and the International Film Festival Rotterdam. At his film’s festival premiere in Fort Lauderdale, it was selected as best foreign film - just the first of many more awards that would follow.
