Gabi Ngcobo

Gabi Ngcobo was born in South Africa and has worked on international art, curatorial and educational projects there for almost 20 years. She co-founded the Johannesburg-based platforms NGO – Nothing Gets Organised and the Center for Historical Reenactments; and was co-curator at the 32nd São Paulo Art Biennial in 2016. Next year, she and her team will curate the 10th Berlin Biennale for Contemporary Art, which

will be held from 9 June to 9 September 2018 at various locations around the capital. For the KunstBewusst series of events organised by the Friends of the Wallraf-Richartz-Museum and Museum Ludwig association,

she was asked to select and present a film that would complement the Afrika Film Festival programme. As she chose a current film from South Africa that is yet to be released in Europe, it can only be billed as a “sneak preview”.
