Biography

Lemohang Jeremiah Mosese was born in 1980 and grew up in Lesotho. He took part in the Berlinale Talent Campus in
2011 and made the short films MOSONNGOA / MOCKED ONE (2014) and BEHEMOTH OR THE GAME OF GOD (2015).
He now lives in exile in Berlin and MOTHER, I AM SUFFOCATING. THIS IS MY LAST FILM ABOUT YOU., his first feature length film, was screened at the 2019 Berlinale in the Forum section. The film is Mosese’s big-screen farewell to his homeland: “In my previous work, I upheld a god-like image of my country and of the African continent in general. But with this film, I revolted. I point an accusatory finger at my ‘mother’. I am both judge and jury. It is extremely painful to go against
oneself and one’s ideals, but I had to burn this house down and look at Africa as an outsider.” (www.arsenal-berlin.de)
