Ivan Boccara

Biography

Ivan Boccara was born in Morocco in 1968 and studied film, history and the cultural history of the Berbers in Paris. He splits his time between Morocco and France and produces short films and documentaries with his production company ‘Les films comme ça’ in Tangier. He teaches at film schools, including at the Cinémathèque de Tanger’s ‘ateliers cinéma et documentaires’ workshops. He works as a photographer and cameraman for contemporary filmmakers and artists. His installations and photographs have been exhibited at the Palais de Tokyo in Paris, at the CAPC museum of contemporary art in Bordeaux, and at the La Fontaine Obscure photo gallery in Aix-en-Provence. His filmography includes the short films L’AFFICHE VIVANTE (2004) and ROAD MARINE (2009), as well as the documentaries MOUT TANIA (1999), TAMESCOUT (2005) and PASTORALES ÉLECTRIQUES (2018), which he is presenting in Cologne.
