Abstract
TWAAGA takes place in the mid-1980s in Burkina Faso, during the era of the revolutionary president Thomas Sankara. While listening to the president’s speeches on the radio, eightyear-old Manu lives in a fantasy world. He loves comic strips and believes that he too has super powers. But there are no invincible heroes – as Sankara’s example shows.
