Abstract

Muhsin Hendricks presented his documentary about homosexuality and Islam at the 2014 festival. The politically engaged South African runs a mosque in a suburb of Cape Town that is open to everyone, irrespective of their sexual orientation. His initiative “The Inner Circle” supports Muslim LGBTQI people and their families. His NGO also has a small film studio, where he made LOCKED IN. Its tagline is A TRANSGENDER STORY and it documents the witch hunt in many churches and mosques against people with transsexual identities.
