Abstract

estor, Aaron, Benjamin and Rafiki are studying for their bachelor’s degrees in economics at the University of Bangui, the only public university in the Central African Republic. Few materials and absent (or corrupt) professors make their life on campus difficult. Drawing upon both solidarity and resourcefulness, the four students attempt to get their degrees while hoping for a better future. NOUS, ÉTUDIANTS ! dives deep into the daily lives of students in the Central African Republic, their hopes, dreams and struggles. In this first feature-length documentary, director Rafiki Fariala gives a voice to his friends, to these students, in the face of a university system left to rot.
