Abstract

Working on the nearby sugar cane plantations, Marco, Bissoon and Rosario have led a comfortable life until now. But things change after they bring in the last harvest. In these times of globalisation, the fields are set to make way for luxurious buildings and the three men are suddenly out of a job. They take each day as it comes, but they don`t know what they`re going to do next. Then a mysterious woman appears in the neighbourhood and she quickly becomes the talk of the town.
This feature film is not only one of the first films to be shot in Mauritius for an audience from the Indian Ocean island, but its production served as both education for local filmmakers and as a development aid for the local film industry, as all means and people involved were sourced locally. Director David Constantin: "We firmly believe in our creative talent, capacity and desire to produce, direct and disseminate our brand of film-making."
